Based on Ludwig Bemelmans'
Madeline books, this heavy cardboard doll mansion is decorated just like the "old house in Paris that was covered with vines." The laminated paper surface of the house is charming, with little Madeline and her friends peeking out the windows and printed vines growing up the red brick walls. It's really a wardrobe case rather than a dollhouse, and it opens up to reveal two storage compartments lined in old-fashioned striped wallpaper. One side has a thin plastic bar and three little hangers for dresses, and the other side has two sets of ribbons to tie 8-inch Madeline and one of her friends in place. At the bottom of each side is a cardboard drawer for storing accessories. The drawers are difficult to open because they fit very tightly, and because the hanging bar for the dresses does not fit into its cardboard holders properly, it will require a little repair job with additional cardboard or tape. Despite these drawbacks, the storage house is still enchanting because it looks just like the house in the books, and it would make a charming presentation case for a gift of a Madeline doll and extra outfits.

In an old house in Paris that was covered in vines lived twelve little girls in two straight lines. They left the house at half past nine in two straight lines, in rain or shine. The smallest one was madeline. And now she and a friend can live in the house (doll case) with their wardrobe!
